英英词汇 削片? 英英词汇 削片 Chipping: The target of Chipping is to produce chips that are homogenous and clean. This is not always easy as the incoming raw material can be of varying quality, age, size, and species. Even chip size and quality is vital to the performance of the cooking stage and producing even chips removes the load from the following screening processes. It is also important to reduce the losses in the form of fines. High quality chips give a higher yield, lower and smaller variation kappa levels, lower chemical consumption and higher strength. This is advantageous in Papermaking and thus makes the pulp that offers these properties more valuable. There are a variety of chippers available but the most widely used is the flywheel type disc with blades as illustrated. In the type of Chipper shown the logs are fed at an angle of around 40 degrees towards the chipper wheel. In some designs this can be horizontal which tends to give more control but is less flexible and cannot normally handle scrap or broken wood pieces. The target is to produce a uniform and homogenous chip size of about 20mm long and 5mm thick. The end of the log is fed towards the rotating flywheel and the blade cleaves the chips from the log as it rotates. The process can be extremely noisy and consumes a lot of energy. Much work has been done in trying to improve knife durability and sharpness and increasing machine uptime and reducing maintenance costs. The chips are then fed to a CHip Screen which classifies the chips and rejects those outside the required quality range. Larger chips are often reprocessed and accepted back into the system.
