The authors indicated that fitting and measuring the potentiodynamic polarization curves and Corrview as a fitting tool were used. Evidently, the experimental polarization curves, which were presented in the digital form, were used for determining icorr, Ecorr, ba and bc. If so, the question arises: whether the total polarization curves (in the potential range to -2.5 V for the cathodic curve and to -0.8 V for the anodic curve) or only some portions of polarization curves were used? This is important. (We study the applicability of electrochemical principles, which form the basis for determining corrosion current and other corrosion parameters, and know many restrictions arising thereby). If the IR drop was not compensated during the polarization curve measurements, considerable errors in the polarization curves and, consequently, in icorr could appear. This is especially true at very high current densities used in the work. The referee’s question about taking into account the IR drop remained unanswered. Then, judging from the micrographs presented in the reply, in the case under consideration, the corrosion is local. The commercial computational programs, as a rule, are appropriate for estimating only general (uniform) corrosion. As it was mentioned in the first Referee’s Report, very high cathodic Tafel slopes (0.589; 0.474 V/decade) are doubtful. They can be caused by the effect of concentration polarization, when the cathodic reaction rate is limited by the diffusion of cathodic depolarizer. Judging from the results listed in Table 2, Corrview ignores this factor. What is the basis for the conclusion: “As seen in Fig. 4, the passivation can be observed in the polarization curves of MHG4”?
