Outokumpu has over the decades built a very strong position in tankhouse machines such as anode preparation machines, anode scrap washing machines and full deposit stripping machines as well as machines for the conventional starting sheet process. During recent years Outokumpu has developed many new concepts and products around this traditional core. The main themes in these new developments have been efficiency, safety and environmental protection, and one specific target has been mechanization and automation up to unmanned operation in the cell aisles. This includes advances both in the material handling and in the process monitoring and control. There are already installations in place where parts of the new technology have been applied.
